What is Child Asthma?

Child asthma is similar to general asthma. It is a widespread narrowing of the airways and/or bronchial tubes. This is usually caused by swelling, increased mucus, inflammation, and/or tightening of the muscles around the airways.

What Causes Child Asthma?

There is no known cause of asthma. It is not a contagious disease. It is believed that genetics are largely at play due to it running in families. 

What Triggers Child Asthma?

This varies greatly from child to child. Asthma can sometimes seem like allergies in how some scented fragrances, dust, or plants can cause asthma symptoms to flare up. Physical activity can also lead to an asthma attack in a child.

Can Children Outgrow Child Asthma?

There are times that children have been known to no longer deal with asthma as they grow up, but this is seldom and there is no known reason as to why this happens. 

Usually, asthma does not go away.

Is There A Cure For Child Asthma?

There is no current cure for asthma. However, there are several treatment options available to manage asthma. 

How Do You Treat Child Asthma?

Depending on the severity of the asthma, there are a variety of medications that can be used to manage asthma.

Additionally, there are actions that can be taken at home to help manage asthma, such as keeping the home clean, minimizing pet dander, and keeping the air warm. 

Does My Child Have Child Asthma?
